Fixed Mobile Convergence-Systems (FMC-Systems)
In classic PBX telephone systems, extensions offer functions that make it easier to communicate with other extensions. However, employees who are on the road with their mobile phones or have landline phones in their home offices ought to be able to benefit from extension functions on these telephones as well. FMC systems add the most important features of an extension to every telephone (every mobile phone, BlackBerry or landline phone), thus ensuring mobility and perfect reachability for all employees.
Connected and integrated into the classic telephone system, FMC systems make these expanded functions possible. The following FMC systems are available, each with a different range of features:
- HiPath 2000, Octopus F270IT
- HiPath Open Office ME
- HiPath 3000, Octopus F200, F400, F650
- Xpressions Compact Mobility for HiPath 3000, Octopus F200, F400, F650
The FMC Mobility Client supports all above mentioned Siemens FMC systems and provides optimized accessibility to the FMC systems from mobile phones.
Mobile extension with the FMC Mobility Client
So that the functions of the classic extension can also be used on a mobile phone, all incoming and outgoing calls are routed via one of the FMC systems mentioned above. This is where FMC Mobility Client excels. Its integration into the mobile phone optimizes the process of making calls via the Fixed-Mobile Convergence system. Particularly when making outgoing calls or while on a call, FMC Mobility Client perfects feature accessibility from the mobile phone:
Outgoing calls: The calling card principle enables direct access to the mobile phone's phone book. This means that the user can access his or her existing contacts and dial the numbers.
During a call: While on a call, users have access to the usual extension functions such as "callback", "call waiting" or "conference" as menu items that can be selected from the display.
The FMC Mobility Client is available in Germany for the following mobile phone platforms (please note the detailed information regarding versions in the in the download area of the respective platform). The range of tested mobile devices for the UK and Sweden may vary and is reduced to a very few. In Sweden the E65, E51 and E71 (in Telia network) was tested successfully.
